FAQs

How does the AQUAvalve technology work?+

The AQUAvalve is a simple and brilliant float valve that controls the flow of water from the reservoir. It allows the tray to fill with nutrient solution to a depth of about 20mm. Once the plants have used all the solution, the valve reopens to repeat the cycle, ensuring a perfect wet/dry cycle without any timers or electricity.

What growing media is best for the easy2grow system?+

AutoPot systems are incredibly versatile. For best results, we recommend a 50/50 mix of perlite with either soil or coco coir. This provides excellent aeration and moisture retention that works perfectly with the bottom-feeding action of the AQUAvalve.

Is this system expandable?+

Absolutely. The modular design of the easy2grow system makes it very easy to expand. You can connect additional 2Pot trays to the same reservoir using simple tee connectors. If you're planning a larger setup from the start, you might consider the AutoPot Easy2grow 12 or even the 16-pot system.

How often do I need to refill the 47L reservoir?+

This depends on the size and growth stage of your plants, as well as the ambient temperature and humidity. A full 47L tank can last from one to two weeks, giving you the freedom to leave your garden unattended without worry. We recommend checking the reservoir levels weekly.

Do I need to add nutrients to the water?+

Yes. You should add a good quality liquid mineral fertilizer to the reservoir. Avoid organic nutrients, as they can potentially clog the 6mm pipework over time. Always mix your nutrients well in the reservoir before turning the system on.
