Yes, for long-term storage (over a few months), it is highly recommended to add an appropriately sized oxygen absorber to each bag before sealing. How do I seal these Mylar bags?+

These bags are designed to be sealed with a heat impulse sealer. For a guaranteed perfect seal, we recommend using the Harvest Right 12″ Impulse Sealer. A standard household iron can also be used on a high setting (without steam), but an impulse sealer provides a more reliable and consistent seal.

Are these bags reusable?+

Mylar bags are generally considered single-use for long-term storage because they must be cut open. However, if you make the initial seal near the very top of the bag, you can cut it open just below the seal, remove some contents, and then clean, dry, and reseal the bag for shorter-term use.
