The screen acts as a filter at the drain outlet of your flood table. During the drain cycle, nutrient solution passes through freely while the screen retains growing media — clay pebbles, rockwool fragments, coco coir — preventing substrate particles from entering the drain line, pump intake, and reservoir—such as the XTrays Black Reservoir Econo 70 Gallon—where they would cause clogging and contamination over time.

A threaded fitting screws into the drain port and creates a fixed, sealed connection. A non-threaded fitting seats into the port without threading, making it faster to install and remove.
