Both fixtures use the REDD Spectrum and are purpose-built for flowering, but they serve different environments. The Aelius Matrx REDD LED Grow Light uses a low-profile folding frame designed specifically for low ceilings and vertical racking. The Aelius REDD 800 features a rigid aluminum housing with large passive heat sinks and is designed for higher-ceiling flower rooms and greenhouse supplemental lighting applications where more overhead clearance is available. The REDD 800 also delivers higher output at 813W versus 729W.

Unlike the folding Matrx series or the compact Aelius Matrx 320 Lite which are optimized for low ceilings, the Aelius REDD 800 is designed for higher-ceiling flower rooms and greenhouse supplemental lighting setups where additional hanging height is available. The included V-hangers and rope hangers allow you to dial in the ideal mounting height for your specific canopy and environment.

The REDD Spectrum is weighted toward blue and red wavelengths within the 400–800nm range — the bands most directly responsible for driving photosynthesis and triggering flowering responses. This targeted output is calibrated specifically for the flowering and fruiting stage, maximizing the genetic expression of your crop rather than providing the broader balance needed for vegetative growth.

Insert a dimmer or controller data cord into one of the RJ12 ports on the driver. To link additional fixtures, run a daisy-chain data cord from the second RJ12 port into the next fixture's RJ12 port and repeat until all lights are connected. Refer to your controller's specifications for the maximum number of fixtures supported per dimming channel.

Routinely remove dust and debris from the LED modules, heat sinks, and driver using low-pressure compressed air or a gentle water rinse. Never pressure wash the fixture. Always power down and allow the unit to fully cool before performing any maintenance, and avoid touching individual LEDs with bare fingers to prevent electrostatic discharge damage.
