Can I use the MBS-PAR sensor with this unit?

The HCS-3 is compatible with the MBS-PAR sensor; however, it is not included in the standard package. You must purchase the light sensor separately if you require real-time PAR measurements.

How does the overheat protection work?

The controller monitors ambient air temperature through the MBS-PRO sensor and triggers a dimming or shutdown command if the room exceeds your safety setpoint. This prevents heat stress during HVAC failure.

Can I manage multiple grow rooms with one HCS-3?

The HCS-3 is designed for single-zone control only. If you need to manage multiple independent environments from one screen, the Hydro-X Pro HCS-2 is the appropriate upgrade.

Does the app require a subscription fee?

The TrolMaster smartphone app is free to download and use for remote monitoring. It provides real-time alerts and data logging without recurring monthly costs.

What happens if the internet connection is lost?

The HCS-3 continues to execute all programmed environmental schedules locally. You will lose remote app access and cloud notifications until the connection is restored, but your crop remains protected.

How many sensors can I daisy-chain to one controller?

You can connect up to six MBS-PRO 4-in-1 sensors to a single HCS-3 set. This allows for multi-point sampling to ensure there are no micro-climate pockets in your canopy.
