TrolMaster PPH-1 Reservoir pH Sensor

pH is one of the first things to drift in a nutrient reservoir — and one of the last things growers check manually until something goes wrong. The TrolMaster PPH-1 Reservoir pH Sensor connects directly to the AMP-2 sensor board via BNC terminal, feeding live pH readings into your TrolMaster Aqua-X NFS-1 Irrigation Control System so you can monitor and respond to changes before they affect plant uptake. For a complete reservoir profile, it is often paired with the TrolMaster PCT-1 Environmental Control EC sensor to track both acidity and nutrient concentration. Its 3.6-meter cable provides flexible placement around the reservoir without requiring extensions, and its range of compatible applications extends beyond irrigation to aquariums, laboratories, and any environment where consistent water pH matters.

The PPH-1 is the reservoir drop-in version of TrolMaster's pH probe lineup — for inline plumbing installation in ¾" PVC tee fittings, see the PPH-3.

TrolMaster backs the PPH-1 with a 3-year warranty from the original date of purchase, covering all mechanical and electronic components under normal operating conditions. Components that fail due to abnormal or improper usage are excluded from this coverage.

Important — pH probe storage requirement: pH probes must be stored with the protective storage cap in place and filled with the correct probe storage solution at all times. A probe that is allowed to dry out completely will permanently damage the sensor element and is explicitly excluded from warranty coverage. Any probe returned without the storage cap or in a dried-out state will not be eligible for a warranty claim.


FAQs

What does the PPH-1 measure? +

The PPH-1 measures the pH level of water in a reservoir. When connected to an AMP-2 sensor board, the reading is passed to the TrolMaster controller and displayed on both the sensor board's LCD and the master controller screen simultaneously — giving you real-time oversight of pH levels without manual testing.

What is the difference between the PPH-1 and the PPH-3? +

Both probes measure pH and use a BNC terminal connection, but they differ in installation capability and sensor board compatibility. The PPH-1 is a reservoir drop-in probe compatible with the AMP-2 board. The PPH-3 is a redesigned version with a reduced-diameter sleeve and threaded body that also fits directly into standard ¾" PVC tee fittings for inline plumbing installation, and is compatible with both AMP-2 and AMP-3 boards. If you need inline measurement or AMP-3 compatibility, the PPH-3 is the appropriate choice.

Which sensor boards and controllers is the PPH-1 compatible with? +

The PPH-1 is compatible with the AMP-2 sensor board, which is used with the TrolMaster Aqua-X NFS-1 Irrigation Control System. It connects via BNC terminal directly to the AMP-2 with no additional adapters. For setups using AMP-3-based controllers like the TrolMaster Aqua-X NFS-2 or the Aqua-X NFS-3 Irrigation Control System, the PPH-3 is the compatible pH probe.

Can the PPH-1 be used for applications other than irrigation? +

Yes — while the PPH-1 is designed for integration with TrolMaster irrigation and environmental control systems, it is equally suitable for aquarium monitoring, laboratory water quality measurement, and advanced grow room management using the TrolMaster Hydro-X HCS-2 Grow Tent Control with the appropriate interface.
